On the Experience of Development and Implementation of the Course “History of Religions of Russia”
Abstract
This article discusses the experience of developing an experimental general education course History of Religions of Russia. The course is distinguished by the presence of the developed problematics of traditional spiritual and moral values, organically integrated into the practice of teaching an interdisciplinary subject at the intersection of the history of religion and religious studies. The paper reveals the significance of the problematics of traditional spiritual and moral values for Russian society; substantiates the necessity of theorizing the problematics of values; describes the attitudes through which the program of the course History of Religions of Russia was formed, as well as the problems encountered by the authors of the course during its production. Within the framework of the article, the decisions taken to overcome methodological problems associated with the introduction of the value aspect into the study of Russia’s religious traditions are substantiated. As a result, the methodological experience gained during the production of the course is extrapolated to the problematics of traditional spiritual and moral values in the context of religion.
