New Media of the “New Right”: Contemporary Cases for Promoting Traditional Values

Keywords: media, new right, anti-globalism, traditional values, Arktos

Abstract

The change taking place in the world over the past few years under the influence of large-scale geopolitical crises can be described as a “new right turn”, which gives special relevance to the intellectual movement of the “New Right”, which originated in France in 1968. The emergence of a multipolar world order, the growing popularity of anti-globalism and traditionalism, the crisis of left-wing liberalism, the de facto revision of the principles of international law, the new technological revolution — all these phenomena were predicted by A. de Benoist, G. Faye, D. Venner in the second half of the 20th century. Modern media and systematic work in the field of information to promote the main ideas of the “New Right”, exclusively compatible with the current course of state policy of the Russian Federation, have become one of the tools to increase interest in the “New Right” discourse. This article examines both the general trend of popularizing the ideas of the “New Right” and specific examples of successful modern right-wing media.
