Author's manuscripts are sent to the official e-mail address of the journal: patria@hse.ru

Manuscripts submitted to the journal Patria must include the following sections:

• Title (in Russian and English).
• Author Information (in Russian and English).
• Abstract (in Russian and English).
• Keywords (in Russian and English).
• Main Text.
• Primary Bibliography (“Literature”).
• Additional Bibliography (“References”).

The following requirements must be observed:

• Information about the authors should contain: Full name, academic degree, position, place of work, official postal address of the organization (university), personal e-mail address, ORCID. Not all these data will be indicated in the publication itself, but they are necessary for the editorial office to place the publication in the scientific citation databases. When designing information about authors, please refer to this section, and not to the design of information about authors in published article.
• The abstract in Russian should contain 1500–2000 characters (including spaces).
• The abstract in English should contain 200–250 words.
• The number of keywords should range from 6 to 8.
• The length of the main text should not exceed 2 author's sheets (up to 80,000 characters, including spaces).
• The author must provide sources for all quotes, figures, and other information presented in the article. References should be cited in the main text in parentheses, as follows: author(s), year of publication: page number. Examples: (Sidorin, 2023: 36), (Khoruzhiy, 1994: 124–138), (Johnson, Tamney, 1996). For works by the same author published in the same year, letters should be added to the publication year (both in the citation and bibliography): a, b, c, etc. (for works in foreign languages, use a, b, c, d...). For references to multiple works by the same author without specifying pages, list them separated by commas without repeating the author’s name: (Soloviev, 2022а, 2022б, 2023). For references to multiple works by different authors, or to works by the same author but with page numbers, list them separated by semicolons, including complete citations: (Sidorin, 2023; Soloviev, 2022а: 45–47; Soloviev, 2022б: 122–123). In all cases, including repeated citations, the reference must be given in full (not replaced with terms like "Op. cit."). If there is an urgent need to use “see,” “compare,” etc., it should be placed inside a footnote: e.g., (see Лосев, 1991: 215). References to the Bible, Quran, etc., should also be given in parentheses within the text. References to works without an author (e.g., collections) are given in the format: (Peter the Great..., 2001: 142).
• Footnotes are used exclusively for necessary commentary and not for referencing literature, which should be cited in the main text. These comments should be formatted as endnotes. The editorial team requests that authors avoid overusing footnotes; comments related to the logic of the article should preferably be integrated into the main text.
• After the main text, the primary and additional bibliographies should be included. The first list should have the subheading “Литература”, and the second should have the subheading “References”.

Formatting of the Primary Bibliography ("Literature")

The main bibliography must follow the guidelines of the Patria journal. Sources are listed in alphabetical order, with Russian-language sources appearing first, followed by those in foreign languages.

Formatting of the Additional Bibliography ("References")

The additional bibliographic list is designed in accordance with SCOPUS rules. Sources in the list are arranged in alphabetical order. The names of Russian authors should be transliterated (if there is an established transliteration or/and the English spelling of the author's name is given in the paper itself, it is necessary to give them; otherwise, you can use the service www.translit.ru), and the names of foreign authors should be given in their original spelling. Transliteration is not necessary for the titles of works; a translation of the title of the work into English is required if the original language of the work is Russian (or a non-European language such as Arabic), or the original title of the work if a translation of a work originally written in a European language is used. In the latter case, the author's name, as mentioned earlier, is given in the original spelling rather than in transliteration.

Incorrect: Khaidegger M. (1997) Bytie i vremya [Being and Time], Moscow: Ad Marginem.

Correct: Heidegger M. (1997) Sein und Zeit, Moscow: Ad Marginem.

When translating titles of Russian-language papers, the following requirements should be observed. If the English version of the title is indicated in the paper itself - cite it; if not - search whether the paper is listed under the English-language title in the Web of Science and Scopus databases; if the paper is not listed in the databases - translate it yourself. For publications in journals it is necessary to indicate the journal name (sometimes it is transliteration, sometimes it is translation), under which the journal exists in WoS and Scopus databases, if it is available there; if not - the official English-language name, which is indicated in the journal itself or on the official page of the journal on the Internet.

City names must be written in full (e.g., Moscow, Saint Petersburg).

Archival materials are not required to be included in the References section.
